madrid - At least five people have died in Spain following a major and prolonged power outage, with fatalities linked to carbon monoxide poisoning, fires, and medical equipment failure.

Tragic Deaths in Spain Amid Power Outage

A power outage in Spain on Monday resulted in the tragic deaths of at least five individuals, with various incidents reported across different regions.

Incidents and Fatalities

In Galicia, near Ourense, a family succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning due to a malfunctioning power generator. Meanwhile, in Madrid, a middle-aged woman lost her life in a fire possibly caused by a fallen candle. In Valencia's Alzira, a 46-year-old woman with a respiratory condition passed away due to a lack of oxygen from a failed medical device. Additionally, in Catalonia, the fire department responded to multiple calls related to generator issues.
