- Popular Youtuber Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, expresses interest in acquiring Tiktok amidst recent controversies and bids from other investors.

MrBeast Eyes Tiktok Acquisition

Recent developments surrounding the social media platform Tiktok have caught the attention of many, especially after the app faced a temporary blackout for its 170 million American users following the enactment of a Biden administration law. President Donald Trump granted Tiktok an extension, allowing it to remain operational in the US for an additional 75 days.

Amidst the uncertainty, potential solutions involve selling Tiktok to an American buyer or investor. Elon Musk of Tesla, X, and SpaceX has shown interest, alongside Larry Ellison of Oracle. Furthermore, Jimmy Donaldson, with over 346 million YouTube subscribers and 112 million Tiktok followers as MrBeast, has expressed his intention to purchase the app. Joining a group of investors led by Employer.com founder and CEO Jesse Tinsley, a cash offer has already been made for Tiktok. The exact amount remains undisclosed. MrBeast has even updated his Tiktok profile to "CEO of Tiktok," signaling his serious intent.

While the details of other bids are scarce, 'The People's Bid for Tiktok,' led by billionaire Frank McCourt, is another contender in the acquisition race. Experts estimate the US arm of Tiktok to be valued between 40 to 50 billion dollars.
