rimini, italy - An 87-year-old woman from Rimini, Italy, found her son after twenty years, but he showed no interest in reuniting with her.

Mother's Long Search

An 87-year-old woman from Rimini, Italy, had been searching for her son for twenty years. After receiving false leads, they finally found him in Conegliano, Veneto. However, the son, Stefano Zini, showed no interest in reuniting with his mother, stating that he wanted to continue living his current life.

Stefano, now 50, had left Rimini in 2003 without a trace, causing distress to his family. Despite being found unwell and disheveled, he refused to reconnect with his mother. The organization Penelope, which supports families of missing persons, aims to facilitate a future meeting between the two.

The police, who had previously classified Stefano's disappearance as voluntary, provided limited assistance until the mother sought help from Penelope. In 2022, Stefano was hospitalized, leading to the long-awaited reunion.
