Inbar Segev, aged 33, tragically lost her life while shielding her 9-month-old baby from bullets during a shooting incident in Tel Aviv. Despite Segev's heroic efforts, her baby, Ari, survived the attack.
The shooting occurred when Segev and her baby were getting off a tram in Jaffa, south of Tel Aviv. Eyewitnesses reported that Segev protected her baby with her own body, ultimately sacrificing herself to save him.
Another individual, Eric Marchenkov, aged 22, was injured in the back during the shooting. Marchenkov witnessed Segev's brave actions to protect her baby, describing it as a miracle that the baby survived.
Segev's husband, Yaari Vigdar, who is a reservist in the Israeli military, found her lifeless body after she failed to answer multiple phone calls. Unable to locate their son, Ari, Vigdar searched frantically until he found the baby unharmed at the hospital.
Seven individuals lost their lives in the Tel Aviv shooting, including Inbar Segev. The identities of two victims remain unknown, while eleven others were injured.
The police have not determined a motive for the shooting but suspect it may have been a terrorist attack. Following the incident, Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, resulting in a casualty in the West Bank.
