houston, usa - A 21-year-old new mother was arrested for attempting to sell her child through bidding from her hospital bed.

A 21-year-old new mother, Jupiner Bryson, from Houston, USA, tried to sell her son on Facebook through bidding, asking for a minimum of 200 dollars. She joined the Facebook group 'Birth Mothers Looking for Adoptive Parent(s)'. The drug-addicted woman also wanted a form of financial compensation to get back on her feet. Upon receiving multiple responses to the advertisement, Bryson engaged with at least seven potential adoptive parents, including couples with fertility issues and same-sex couples. When parents were not willing to pay, Bryson backed out.

One of the responders was Wendy Williams, who lived in Houston. Williams rushed to the hospital on September 23rd when she heard Bryson was in labor. Having been adopted herself, Williams felt a deep connection to the baby during the birth. The baby tested positive for drugs at birth, indicating Bryson's drug use.

After the birth, Bryson announced on Facebook that she had found a home for the baby and tagged Williams, who received backlash for the perceived sale of the baby. Williams, feeling suspicious, contacted the authorities leading to Bryson's arrest. The court will decide the baby's placement.
