Moscow resumes flights on Damascus

World November 8, 2018 16:00

moscow - Moscow resumed direct passenger flights to and from the Syrian capital Damascus after six years. This is reported by the international Russian airport Sheremetyevo on its website.

Aeroflot, the only Russian airline to offer direct flights to and from Syria, suspended flights to the Arab Republic in 2012 as the violence between rebels and government forces escalated. The Russian army still has an air and naval base in Syria. The Russians support Damascus in the fight against opposition members and terrorists.
