Moscow: arms supply US to Kiev provocation

moscow - The American decision to supply arms to Ukraine is dangerous because it will encourage Kiev to use violence in Eastern Ukraine, Russian officials said Saturday.

The US State Department announced on Friday that the United States will provide Ukraine with 'improved defensive opportunities' as Kiev is fighting Russian-backed separatists in the eastern part of the country.

Weapon deliveries encourage those in the conflict in Ukraine to use the 'violence scenario', quoted the Russian State Agency RIA as Saturday Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigori Karasin.

Franz Klintsevich, member of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament, said that Kiev will consider arms deliveries as support for his actions, reported Interfax news agency. 'Americans are sending the Ukrainian armed forces straight to war,' he added.
