More than twenty deaths in California fires

paradise/malibu - The large forest fires in the American state of California have now claimed more than twenty lives. On Saturday, another fourteen bodies were found, the local authorities report. Dozens of people are missing.

Especially the town of Paradise, about 145 kilometers north of Sacramento, has been hit hard. Camp Fire, as the fire is called, has killed 23 people. Thousands of houses and businesses went up in flames. Because the fire spread quickly, residents had to leave their homes in haste.
