More incidents in the Belgian part of the North Sea

ostend - The Belgian part of the North Sea last year recorded 217 incidents involving ships. In 2014 there were still 193 and 198 the year before, according to figures from the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Center in Ostend Minister Bart Tommelein (North Sea) has sent to parliament.
Thirteen ships stranded last year, five capsized and sank seven. The department employed five collisions and fifteen medical evacuations in 2015. In 172 cases had technical problems with vessels, while there were 139 the year before.
The center has no figures on casualties or damage to the environment.
