Mobile Internet Disruption in Moscow

As preparations for the Victory Day celebrations from May 5-9 are underway in Moscow, mobile internet and SMS services have been intentionally disrupted. While access to mobile internet and SMS is unavailable, wired internet continues to function in certain areas.

Previous Disruption in March

In March, similar issues with mobile internet services occurred in Moscow, mainly affecting the city center. Residents were limited to accessing specific internet services known as the 'white list'.

Security Measures and Recent Attacks

The Kremlin spokesperson stated that the restrictions are part of security measures. Meanwhile, there has been a surge in drone attacks on Moscow from Ukraine, with a recent incident involving a drone hitting a high-rise building in the city center. The Russian Defense Ministry announced targeting 289 Ukrainian drones in various regions today, including Moscow.
