izmir, turkey - Joint operation by Manisa Provincial Gendarmerie Command JASAT and TEM Teams with MIT results in the capture of 5 suspects in Izmir.

5 Suspects Captured in Izmir for Impersonating Public Officials

Manisa Provincial Gendarmerie Command JASAT and TEM Teams, in cooperation with MIT, conducted a joint operation to capture 5 individuals who were posing as public officials and deceiving citizens in Izmir. The suspects, who pretended to be personnel from MIT, Ministry of Interior Inspector General, and intelligence officers, were found to be requesting money from citizens under the promise of assisting in official matters.

The operation took place today with simultaneous raids on 5 different addresses in Izmir. A.S.Ö., known as 'Haydar Reis', and 4 other suspects were apprehended during the raids. A total of 336 documents and note papers, 49 notebooks, 6 mobile phones, 5 SIM cards, 3 laptops, 1 tablet, 1 external memory, and fake public official identity documents were seized during the operation.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
