Million-Euro Heist at Diplomat's Residence in Switzerland

switzerland - A wealthy diplomat's son suspected of orchestrating a million-euro heist at his father's Swiss residence.
Suspect Identified in Million-Euro Heist
A wealthy Belgian diplomat residing in Switzerland had nearly a million euros stolen from his secure residence in Zug. The prime suspect in the case is his own son, also a diplomat.
Jean-Pierre L., a prominent figure in Belgian diplomatic circles holding both Belgian and Swiss citizenship, serves as the Consul of Seychelles in Switzerland. His son, Boris L., is a diplomat as well, serving as the honorary consul in France for Antigua and Barbuda.
During the break-in that took place between October 14 and 19, 2021, valuable items were left untouched while the thieves targeted a 400-kilogram safe attached to the wall. The burglars managed to crack the safe and make off with nearly a million euros in cash along with jewelry and confidential documents.
The Swiss police uncovered DNA evidence linking the crime to two brothers with a history of theft and kidnapping. The third accomplice, identified only as K., had recruited the brothers for the heist. It was revealed that Boris L., the son of the diplomat, was the mysterious figure behind the orchestrated robbery.
Allegedly motivated by a family feud, Boris L. is suspected of masterminding the break-in as an act of revenge. Despite being implicated in the crime, Boris L. has evaded legal consequences so far, possibly leveraging his diplomatic immunity.
Legal proceedings have commenced, with Jean-Pierre L.'s lawyer adamant about holding his son accountable and uncovering his true intentions. The lawyer expressed disbelief at the utilization of criminal methods within diplomatic circles.
