mexico - Tragic death of a Mexican influencer following a cosmetic procedure in an unauthorized clinic sheds light on the dangers of liposuction.

Tragic Death of a Mexican Influencer

Denisse Reyes, a 27-year-old influencer from Mexico, passed away last week after undergoing a liposuction procedure. The surgery took place in an unauthorized clinic, leading to fatal consequences.

Reyes underwent the liposuction at the San Medical Clinic in Tuxtla GutiƩrrez, Chiapas. Her uncle, Ammao Rodriguez, revealed that the clinic was not authorized to perform such procedures. Prior to the operation, Reyes had a negative reaction to a medication injected into her system.

Initially, Reyes informed her social media followers about her recovery progress, but her health deteriorated rapidly. Three days post-surgery, she was rushed to the Manzur Hospital due to illness and tragically succumbed to a heart attack on January 29th. She had no known prior health issues.

The influencer's family plans to pursue legal action against the clinic and the attending physician, Dr. Orlando Gamboa. Dr. Gamboa has refrained from making any public statements following Reyes' demise.

Liposuction is a procedure aimed at removing subcutaneous fat deposits from various body areas like the neck, abdomen, buttocks, knees, or thighs. It is not a weight loss method but a means to eliminate excess fat. The surgery typically requires general anesthesia and may result in bruising, swelling, or rare complications such as infections or bleeding. Repeat liposuction might be necessary if all excess fat cannot be removed in one session.
