Merkel and Trump call together to file Syria

berlin - US President Trump and German Chancellor Merkel stressed in a telephone conversation that the recent Security Council resolution on a ceasefire in Syria must be implemented immediately. They accuse the Syrian government and the Russian and Iranian allies of the regime in Damascus.

The two Western leaders are also concerned about statements by the Russian President Putin Thursday about arms and the development of new weapons. That warlike language of Putin would have a negative impact on the international efforts to reduce the weaponry in the world, according to Merkel and Trump.
