Mayor London: new brexit referendum

World September 16, 2018 07:48

london - London mayor Sadiq Khan has called for a new referendum on British membership of the European Union. In the Sunday newspaper The Observer Khan criticizes the government's negotiations and says that the way of life, the economy and the jobs are too much at risk, without the voters being allowed to speak about it.

'Voters must be able to speak out on any agreement the government closes, or on a no-deal letter if there is no agreement, or on the option to stay in the EU,' Khan writes in the paper.

Prime Minister Theresa May has repeatedly ruled out a second referendum. MEPs can vote if they will accept the final agreement. Great Britain leaves the EU on March 29, 2019. However, the negotiators of the EU and Great Britain have not yet reached an agreement on the mutual relationship after the Brexit.
