london - Prime Minister Theresa May can continue preliminary preparations for the withdrawal from the European Union. The British Parliament gave its debate Wednesday after two days with a large majority (498 against 114) the right to invoke Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon. That section governs the withdrawal from the EU.

There are still political obstacles. Pro-European Conservatives voted reluctantly in, opposition Labour party agreed but announced the follow adjustments. Commons deliberates on February 6 again to determine the details of the procedure. Thereafter, the upper house bends over the bill for brexit.

For March 7 is expected green light. Then late May month can make the wish of the British in Brussels in advance and start negotiations about the departure from the EU. Thursday they will plan out.
