los angeles, california, usa - Deadly wildfires in Los Angeles continue to rage out of control, resulting in mass destruction and loss of life. The fires have already consumed tens of thousands of acres of land.

Wildfires that began in the Palisades and Eaton areas of Los Angeles on Tuesday have spread rapidly, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake. With at least 10 confirmed fatalities and approximately 35,000 acres reduced to ashes, the situation is being likened to the aftermath of a nuclear bomb. The fires have prompted the evacuation of 180,000 residents as the flames stubbornly resist containment efforts amidst strong winds.

The Palisades fire, only 8% contained, has become one of the most destructive in the region's history. Over 10,000 structures along the coast have been completely destroyed. Luxury mansions hosting Hollywood celebrities in Malibu have been particularly hard hit by the flames.

Meanwhile, the Eaton fire, which is only 3% contained, has engulfed around 13,750 acres of land in its path. In addition, a new fire at the Los Angeles-Ventura county border has rapidly spread to impact approximately 12,940 acres. Authorities have arrested an individual suspected of arson in connection with this fire, while over 1,400 firefighters have been battling the blazes.

The economic toll of the wildfires is estimated to exceed $150 billion, with widespread reports of looting in the affected areas. Governor Gavin Newsom has deployed 300 National Guard members and 210 police officers to maintain security and order in the fire-ravaged zones. Significant portions of the fires in Hurst, Palisades, Kenneth, and Eaton remain uncontained, forcing the city to impose a curfew and suspend classes in all schools. Allegations have surfaced that inadequate water supply in some areas has hindered firefighting efforts.

President Joe Biden has assured that the full cost of the disaster will be covered by the government. Those defying the curfew will face arrest, as authorities work tirelessly to bring the devastating wildfires under control.
