- On the Formula 1 circuit of Monza in Italy will be made an audacious attempt to run a marathon under 2 hours in the history for the first time. It announced the organization of the record Tuesday, without mentioning the date of the special day.

Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge from Kenya, Leslisa Desisa of Ethiopia and Zersenay Tadese from Eritrea will compete in the marathon at Monza. Participants will take seventeen laps on the 2.4 kilometer route.

The current world record is held by the Kenyan Dennis Kipruto Kimetto, which ended in Berlin in 2014 in 2 hours, 2 minutes and 57 seconds.
