hodeidah - In the case of air strikes in the Yemenite region of Hodeidah, according to Houthi rebels, at least nineteen civilians were killed on Saturday. Jet fighters from the coalition fighting against the rebels under the leadership of Saudi Arabia attacked a checkpoint in Jabal Rass when two buses passed by.

Relief workers confirmed that ten people had died, eight of whom were from a family. According to the rebels, more than 30 people were injured.

Since June, the coalition has regularly carried out air strikes on the port city of Hodeidah, which is occupied by the Iranian-backed Houthis and is of great importance for the supply of Yemen. A coalition spokesman said the attack on Jabal Rass will be investigated.

According to the United Nations, more than ten thousand people have died in the Yemeni civil war since 2015. More than two million people are on the run.
