- Manchester United finalizes the acquisition of full-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in a €30 million deal with potential bonuses, strengthening the team's left side.

Manchester United Signs Patrick Dorgu

Manchester United has officially secured the services of full-back Patrick Dorgu from Serie A side Lecce. The Premier League club completed the signing for a fee of €30 million, with the possibility of an additional €5 million in performance-based bonuses. Dorgu, a 20-year-old Denmark international, has committed to the club until 2030 with a potential extension option.

Patrick Dorgu's arrival addresses a significant gap in Ruben Amorim's squad, particularly on the left side of the defense. The young talent stood out in Italy, catching the attention of Manchester United's management. While exploring other options like Álvaro Fernández, Dorgu emerged as the primary target due to his impressive performances over the past seasons.

Having joined Lecce as a teenager from FC Nordsjælland, Dorgu quickly established himself in the team, making 32 appearances in the 2023-24 season. His consistent presence and contributions, including three goals and an assist this season, underline his potential and value to Manchester United's future success.
