newport - James Howell, who lost his hard drive containing bitcoins worth 700 million euros in 2013, plans to buy the entire landfill site where it might be located.

New Attempt to Recover Lost Fortune

James Howell, who mined about 8000 bitcoins in 2009, lost access to his digital fortune when his hard drive was mistakenly discarded. His ex-wife disposed of the hard drive in a local landfill while cleaning up. Despite offering nearly 60 million euros to search the site, the council denied his request.

Now, with the council's plan to close the landfill, Howell expresses interest in buying the site to retrieve his lost hard drive. The council, however, has not responded to his latest plea to search for the hard drive.
