Man stops mountain banknotes in gut (and does not get them out)

istanbul - An Algerian jeweler was arrested in Turkey because he tried to smuggle 290 banknotes worth € 144,200 in his gut.

The man came from Algeria to Istanbul to buy gold there. Because there is a limit to the amount of money you can take with him, he had put 288 bills of 500 euros and two 100 euro bills in his tract.

When he was unable to get the money out of his body, he had to be operated. After the doctors had removed the rolled up notes, the man was met by the police. The money has been confiscated and the man has been sent back to his homeland, reports the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet.
