dublin, ireland - A man attacked three people with a kitchen knife in Dublin, choosing his victims randomly, before being apprehended.

Attack in Dublin

In the Irish capital of Dublin, a man stabbed three people with a kitchen knife on Sunday afternoon, possibly selecting his victims at random.

Local residents were instructed to stay indoors around 3:00 PM on Sunday, as emergency services responded to Oxmantown Road and Niall Street in Dublin where multiple people had been attacked with a knife.

One of the victims was reportedly attacked at their doorstep upon returning home. The three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment but are not in critical condition.

The attacker, who had his face covered, has been apprehended.

A local resident witnessed the arrest on Manor Street, stating, 'I saw a lot of police cars arriving very quickly. I saw a man running away. He was shouting to be left alone. Shortly after, he was handcuffed and taken away.'

The motive of the attacker remains unknown, and the police are currently not considering any terrorist motives.
