london - A man in England has been convicted for his role in the theft of an 18-carat golden toilet created by artist Maurizio Cattelan in 2019.

Man Convicted for Involvement in Theft of Golden Toilet

An English man has been sentenced for his part in the theft of a fully functioning 18-carat gold toilet named America, created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. The toilet was on display at Blenheim Palace for visitors to use.

The Stolen Toilet

Weighing 98 kilograms and insured for $6 million, the toilet was believed to have been broken into smaller pieces and sold off. The convicted individual allegedly assisted in this illegal activity.

Legal Proceedings

Two others are awaiting sentencing next month, with one admitting guilt for theft and disposing of the gold, and another denying involvement but being found guilty on Monday for theft.
