melbourne - More than a week after a motorist drove on pedestrians in the Australian city of Melbourne, an 83-year-old man died of his injuries. He is the first fatal victim of the incident, in which about twenty people were injured.
Last Thursday, a 32-year-old Australian with Afghan roots at a crossroads deliberately ignored a red traffic light and drove on pedestrians who crossed over. He has been arrested and may now also be prosecuted for murder. There was already a charge against him of 19 cases of attempted murder.
