Man (86) all lied about Auschwitz

- He held many years all over speeches about the Holocaust, his stay in Auschwitz, his meetings with the SS doctor Josef Mengele, Eleanor Roosevelt and Jesse Owens, and the fact that he had seen Hitler in 1936. Joseph Hirt became widely known as a Jewish survivor and witness, but appears to have lied all.

The 86-year-old Hirt, a resident of the US state of Pennsylvania, has admitted that he largely invented his own existence. The first cracks in Hirts stories emerged earlier this year when a history teacher in New York became suspicious after he had discovered incorrect facts in the stories of the famous Auschwitz prisoner.

Joseph Hirt, writes The Guardian, said Friday that he did it only because he was afraid that would be forgotten the horrors of the camps. He was going to look in Auschwitz and had seen that it is now a clean and polished museum, where visitors walk around smiling.
