Man (55) killed by bear in Tatra Mountains in Slovakia

bratislava - A 55-year-old man has died in Slovakia after being attacked by a bear, local authorities report.
The victim was picking mushrooms with someone else in a remote area near the Tatra Mountains when he was attacked by the bear. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries, the police wrote on Facebook.
According to local media, the last time someone died from a bear attack in Slovakia was in 2021. Earlier this year, a brown bear injured five people in the city of Liptovsky Mikulas. The city council then decided that the animal had to be put down.
