Macron appoints Philippe to French Prime Minister

paris - President Emmanuel Macron appointed the Conservative Édouard Philippe as a new prime minister of France on Monday. Philippe (46) is the mayor of Le Havre and a confidant of the prominent conservative politician Alain Juppé of the Les Republicains party. This made Macron known on Monday.
Macron was sworn on Monday morning as the eighth president of the Fifth Republic.
