skopje - Police in Macedonia on Saturday in the capital Skopje and Tetovo four persons arrested who are suspected of links with Islamic State. They would have joined the terrorist organization to fight in Syria and Iraq. There are computers, mobile phones and passports confiscated. In three other suspected IS involved is still being sought.
The authorities of the former Yugoslav republic think that left about 130 residents to become IS-warrior. How many are still active is not known. The judge sentenced in March, six Macedonians, including an imam, because of their affiliation with the jihadists or the recruitment of candidates for the armed struggle. They received prison sentences to seven years.
