ac milan, italy - AC Milan's new manager, Massimiliano Allegri, confirms Luka Modrić's move after Real Madrid's Club World Cup, ending Modrić's 13-year tenure at the Spanish club.

Luka Modrić Confirmed to Join AC Milan

AC Milan's newly-appointed manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has confirmed that Real Madrid's Luka Modrić will join the Serie A club after the Club World Cup, marking the end of his 13-year stint with the Spanish giants.

Key Details of the Move

Modrić, the Croatia captain, announced his departure from Real Madrid in May and is set to sign a one-year contract with AC Milan, with a reported option for an extension and a net salary of approximately €3.5 million per season.

Allegri's Statement

Allegri expressed his excitement about Modrić's arrival, praising the midfielder as an 'extraordinary player' during his first news conference as Milan's manager. He emphasized the importance of hard work and results in regaining the fans' respect.

Changes in Milan's Squad

The Italian coach also highlighted some squad changes, mentioning the departures of midfielder Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City and left back Theo Hernández's potential move to Al Hilal. However, goalkeeper Mike Maignan and forward Rafael Leão are expected to stay with the team for the upcoming season.

Milan will commence their Serie A campaign on August 23 with a match against Cremonese, as Allegri returns to the club where he previously led them to a Serie A title in the 2010-11 season.
