Loraine (94) has been working for 44 years at McDonald's

evansville - She baked her first hamburger in 1973 and after 44 years she still works two shifts a week at the McDonald's in Evansville, Indiana. But retiring the 94-year-old Loraine Maurer not yet.

Last week, putting her colleagues Loraine again heavily in the spotlight with a party.

The spry nineties went to work at the burger chain because her husband could no longer work due to a disability. 'I told him we were too young to stay at home, so I went looking for a job,' says Loraine at ABC News. It was never the intention that they would work for a long time, but she continued. Transferring to a management position they would not, for the contact with the clients she found far too important.

Since her husband died in 1980, she traveled all over the world. And everywhere she looked for the familiar yellow bows to visit her favorite restaurant, she says.

On retirement she thinks every winter ever, but stop working they will not. 'I would miss it too much,' says the woman who has four children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 'I really enjoy it. Life is what you make of it, and I do my best. '
