- Liverpool announces Darwin Núñez's departure to Saudi Pro League's Al Hilal for €53 million after three seasons, marking a significant move in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool Confirms Darwin Núñez Transfer to Al Hilal

Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez has officially left Liverpool after completing a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for a reported fee of €53 million ($62m).

Núñez's Contribution to Liverpool

Núñez, 26, joined Liverpool in June 2022 from Benfica for £64m and made 143 appearances, scoring 40 goals. His departure follows a season where he started only eight Premier League matches during Liverpool's title-winning campaign.

Transfer Saga

Núñez's departure was preceded by a rejected bid from Napoli earlier in the window and a significant income from player sales for Liverpool this summer, nearing £200m. The move also creates space in Liverpool's forward line, recently bolstered by new signings.

Interest in Alexander Isak

Liverpool continues to pursue Newcastle's Alexander Isak, with a recent £110m bid being turned down. Isak's future at Newcastle remains uncertain as the new Premier League season approaches.
