miami - 28-year-old ex-military Esteban Santiago who shot five people at Fort Lauderdale airport in 2017 and wounded six others, has to spend the rest of his life in prison. A judge in Miami sentenced him Friday to five times for life and six times twenty years.
Santiago, an Iraq veteran, opened fire on travelers in the airport baggage hall on 6 January 2017 with a pistol. When he was through his bullets, he surrendered to security guards.
During the lawsuit, which lasted more than a year, Santiago blamed all charges. This prevented him from imposing the death penalty on him.
