lebanon - Nevvaf Selam appointed to form a government without political party members in Lebanon.

Lebanon to Form Non-Partisan Government

In Lebanon, Nevvaf Selam, tasked with forming a government, announced that the cabinet will not include ministers from political parties. Selam stated that despite challenges, the government will be formed soon, ensuring support from the Arab world and the international community. He emphasized that no ministry belongs to any group, there are no banned ministries for any group, and ministers will be separate from MPs, with no candidates from local elections included in the government. A national government with representatives from no party will be established. After over two years of political crisis in Lebanon, Joseph Avn was elected as the 14th president on January 9. Selam, currently serving as the President of the International Court of Justice, was assigned to form the new government on January 13. The announcement of Selam's cabinet is expected soon.
