Scientists from the Eurac laboratory in Bolzano, Italy, have researched the stomach contents of Ötzi. He may have used it as a remedy against parasites in his intestines.

His stomach was full when he died. About half was animal fat. This is necessary for heavy efforts in extreme conditions. Ötzi must have used up a lot of energy in the Alps. His body was found at 3,210 meters above sea level.
