sydney - On the southern edge of the Australian city of Sydney, this weekend a large forest fire broke out. The fire seemed initially under control, but on Sunday it flared heavily, local media reported.
The fires threaten the suburbs Menai and Barden Ridge. There, buildings would already be damaged and residents would have taken up the neighborhood.
Five hundred firefighters with a hundred fire trucks and fifteen airplanes try to control the fire. It is extremely dry in the region and there is a strong wind.
