Persistent heavy rains have caused floods, mudslides, and landslides in four different districts in the province of North Sumatra. The landslides claimed the lives of seven individuals in a village in the Deli Serdang district on Wednesday. Rescue workers have discovered twenty more fatalities in other locations.
Aside from a minibus, other vehicles were buried when a mudslide hit a highway. Authorities are unsure about the number of people inside the vehicles.
