Labour willing to support new brexit referendum

liverpool - The summit of the largest British opposition party Labor is prepared to work for a new referendum on British membership of the EU. A condition is that the members of the party request a new plebiscite, reports British media.

The issue is likely to come up in the coming days. Labor holds a multi-day party conference in Liverpool. A poll shows that 86 percent of the members want a second Brexit referendum. 'I will stick to what comes out of the congress,' said party leader Jeremy Corbyn to the Sunday Mirror newspaper.

Also the second man of the party, Tom Watson, states that the party top should listen to the members. If they decide that the people should get the last word about the ultimate brexit deal, Watson must listen to that. 'Then we will go out and plead for that,' he said in the Observer.

The two men themselves prefer new elections. Then the brexit can be discussed during the campaign.
