King Mohammed undergoes heart surgery

- King Mohammed of Morocco has successfully undergone heart surgery. The intervention took place in Paris after cardiac arrhythmias had been detected at the 54-year-old frost, according to the Moroccan State Press Office MAP. Mohammed is expected to fully assume his duties again in the future.

Mohammed has been on the Moroccan throne since 1999. He then succeeded his father Hassan, who had died of a heart attack.

In a picture that MAP has spread, Mohammed is seen in his hospital bed surrounded by various family members, including crown prince Moulay El Hassan and princess Lalla Khadija. Mohammed's wife is not in the picture.
