- King Felipe enjoys broad appreciation in Spain. This is shown by a survey that was held to measure support for the monarchy. They rate him with the figure of 7.4, much higher than any politician.

No less than 76.2 percent of respondents think Felipe is a 'good king'. That means, according to the newspaper La Razon, that the king also enjoys support outside of the supporters of the traditional middle parties, so among opponents of the monarchy. The monarchy itself does not come off badly with a score of 7.2. There is therefore no broad support for holding a referendum with the question of whether the king should be exchanged for a president. Only 29.8 percent of respondents are in favor of this. The percentage of young people is higher: 51.1 percent.

The survey also asked about the role of King Felipe in the independence efforts of the autonomous region of Catalonia. A mere 52 percent think that the king, who turns fifty later this month, has to play a more active role, while 37 percent think he has done enough.

The Spaniards are strongly in favor (80.9 percent) of the amendment of the constitution that this year forty years. One of the changes must be that it is no longer a distinction between boy or girl during the succession to the throne. That is still the case now. If in the family of Felipe and Letizia a boy was to be born, he would have priority over his sisters Leonor and Sofia.

Only 14.5 per cent of Spaniards believe that King Felipe, who took office in 2014, did not carry out his work properly. A large majority (87.3 percent) believe that the succession to the succession was successful.
