pyongyang - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has called on his military to prepare for war in a speech delivered to battalion commanders and instructors in Pyongyang.

Kim Jong-un accused the United States and South Korea of escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula to a boiling point. He emphasized the need for the military to enhance its war-fighting capabilities.

North Korea is said to have strengthened its military ties with Russia, with reports of 10,000 North Korean soldiers participating in the conflict in Ukraine. The Financial Times reported that North Korea sent troops, ammunition, and heavy equipment like rocket launchers to Russia.

In response to the deployment of North Korean troops by Russia, Washington reportedly approved Ukraine to launch strikes deep into Russia using American weapons. Russian parliamentary members warn that such actions could trigger a Third World War.
