Killed in attack on Pakistan market

peshawar - In a bomb explosion at a vegetable market in Parachinar in northwestern Pakistan Saturday at least twenty people died. Another fifty were wounded, said a spokesman of the central hospital in the district of Kurram.

Fifteen wounded in bad shape were transferred to Peshawar, capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The region, which harbors many tribes bordering Afghanistan. Area extremists remain active, despite several major operations by the Pakistani army. Responsibility for the attack has not been claimed.
