- In an attack on a police station in eastern Turkey late Wednesday least five people died. Dozens of others were injured, among them three children and six policemen. According to the newspaper Sabah Daily, the attack was carried out by fighters of the Kurdish PKK. They had a car bomb, rocket launchers and rifles.

The police station in the province of Diyarbakir and buildings were damaged in the area. The army and extra police officers have been deployed to maintain order. The wounded were taken to a hospital.

The attackers were the car bomb at the entrance of the police station have detonated. Then they opened fire on police officers. Police have arrested the attackers. It is unclear whether the attackers were trying to flee or whether they surrendered.
