Kill in police action in Germany after attack with scissors

kirchheim - UPDATE 1.45 PM The German police shot a 25-year-old man in Kirchheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, after he had attacked officers with scissors. During the incident in Kirchheim, the 56-year-old mother of the man also died. Two officers were seriously injured by the attack with the scissors. They are out of danger.

According to the prosecution, a woman had called to the police on Friday morning to say that her son had gone through and attacked her. The police then rushed to the house. There the son attacked the police with scissors. Agents shot him out of self-defense, according to the prosecutor. The man would have been under the influence of drugs and had a psychosis.

It is still unclear how the mother exactly died.

After the shooting, there were rumors that an armed man was walking through the village, but they were disproved by the police. According to unit Rheinpfalz there was no danger anymore.
