Judge blocks executions Arkansas

little rock - The US state of Arkansas wants to end the month executed seven prisoners, but the judge is there to go ahead. He forbids the state to use the drug vecuronium bromide.

According to the pharmaceutical company McKesson prison bought the muscle relaxant for medical purposes. They do not want it used for an execution.

Two other drug companies got Friday even go to court. Fresenius Kabi USA and West-Ward Pharmaceuticals do not want their funds to be used executions. The two pharmaceutical companies are in their stomach with the issue. Their customers are wholesalers and distributors, which may only resell the products to hospitals and other medical institutions. The funds may not be delivered to detention centers.

In Arkansas, the last detainee was executed in 2005. The state is in a hurry because of the expiry date of a stock of midazolam. Midazolam is needed to bring the prisoner out of consciousness.
