Journalist sentenced for helping hackers

- A 28 -year-old American journalist was convicted for helping hacker collective Anonymous.

The jury found evidence that Matthew Keys had given the group credentials for the systems of the Los Angeles Times. Keys worked for the parent company of the LA Times, Tribune, but left there in 2010 after a conflict with a manager.

He then contacted Anonymous and gave them credentials which the hackers could fit an article on the website of the newspaper. What punishment Keys gets is not yet known. In January 2016, he will be told whether and how long he should be in jail.
