Jihadist convicted of plotting attack Germany

hamburg - A court in Hamburg sentenced a 20-year-old Syrian to 6.5 years in prison for planning a severe attack. The man wanted a car bomb to explode and kill or injure two hundred people.

Yamen A. was arrested more than a year ago in the North German town of Schwerin after being monitored for some time. He had already purchased parts and chemicals for a bomb and had contact via the internet with someone who presented himself as a 'soldier of the caliphate'.
