The anonymous accuser stated that the rape took place after she was driven to an afterparty of the MTV Video Music Awards. The lawsuit originally filed against Combs in October has now been refiled to include Shawn Carter, Jay-Z's real name.

Combs, who has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct including assault and rape, is currently in custody awaiting his trial scheduled to begin in May. This marks the first lawsuit where another prominent suspect has been named.
