Italy refuses boat with refugees

rome - Italy refused a cargo ship with 66 refugees on board. The ship had removed the refugees off the coast of Libya on Monday, but was denied permission to sail to Italy.

On Tuesday the refugees were transferred to a ship of the coast guard. A number of refugees would have threatened the crew of the ship sailing under the Italian flag. Italy wants the refugees to be better distributed among the European member states.
