tel aviv - Israeli army releases findings on their failure to prevent Hamas massacre on October 7th.

Israeli Army's Shocking Failure

The Israeli army released a report this week detailing their failures on October 7th. The report highlights three main failures: underestimating Hamas, ignoring crucial warnings, and facing chaos at the Gaza border.

Army chief Herzi Halevi took responsibility for the failure, with no specific individual blamed in the report. Calls for an independent investigation into the political and security agencies' failures have been growing.

Israeli media reported that the head of Shin Bet had sought approval from PM Netanyahu to eliminate Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar prior to the events on 7/10, a claim denied by the PM's office. The report also reveals missed warnings and intelligence regarding Hamas' invasion plans.

The investigation points out the lack of communication and preparation, leading to a deadly outcome with over 1300 Israeli casualties and 251 hostages in Gaza.
